How to Pack for Storing
- Label boxes on multiple sides so it is easily found
- Don't over fill boxes. Put light stuff in large boxes and heavy stuff in small boxes
- Store clothing in a wardrobe box so they don't wrinkle
- Pad and wrap furniture and mirrors to avoid breakage and scuffing
- Furniture drawers are perfect for storing delicate items or small items
- Avoid storing anything combustible, paints, chemicals or propane bottles
- Prepare inventory list of all items stored, this will help in locating items
Tips for Organizing Your Unit
- Leave aisles for easy access to items in the back
- Store heavier items/boxes on the bottom and lighter items on top
- Don't stack higher than you can reach easily
- Store large flat furniture on the bottom and stack items on top
- Keep refrigerators and freezers slightly open, this will keep them from getting musty
- Store items you use the most in the front of your unit
- Large yard tools, rakes, shovels, hoses and such can be stored in trash cans
